Well I typed an email earlier but it all get deleted. Plate. So we'll try again!
Hi Family!
So this week has been crazy.
Metros breaking down.
Walking around in the rain.
General Conference. General Authorities laying down the law.
Sugar-free diets.
Restaurants closing down.
Exchanges with Sisters.
Interviews with President that get scheduled, rescheduled and rescheduled again.
Craziness.
Here's the highlights....
Grandma Chicken or Grand-mere Poule
So there is a member in the English branch who was talking up some breakfast join and you all know me, I love breakfast. So Friday ended up being a really stressful day because of interviews. So Sister Rios and I decided to go to this great breakfast place we'd been hearing about before Conference on Saturday. So we wake up early, work out, get ready, study a bit and we are out the door. We have to get on the orange line. Go over to the green line. At the end of the green line, we've got to find this bus. Wait for the bus. Get on the bus. Get lost. Ask the bus driver to tell when we hit this street. Then he tells us. Ends up dropping us off at the top of the street and we have to walk ages because we get off early. And its raining. Like a lot. So we walk and we walk and we searching. Finally we find the place it should be, we look around and there is nothing. We stop a guy on the street and ask him if he knew the restaurant Grand-mere Poule. He points to the abandon building behind us and says that was it. Haha are you kidding? It took us a hour and 15 minutes to get there and it was closed down. Haha We just laughed, snapped a few pictures and then got on the first bus we found that was headed to a Metro. It was quite an adventure.
We ended up going out for Mexican food in-between sessions to make up for it. :)
Getting skinny
So the count down has begun. Thank heavens I am with Sister Rios. She is the fitness master (under Maegan of course). We wake up at 6 AM everyday. We work out hard. We are also walking everywhere. Running to catch metros. Up the stairs and down the stairs. It awesome. I love it!
In addition to that, we got with some of the other Sisters and started a "Sugar-Free October" contract. If you can read it, its pretty funny. So we went and got cheese cake our last night of sugar and so far so good! We even got another Sister to join. Its not too bad. We eat fruit and yogurt when we want a treat. We'll see what happens for Canadian Thanksgiving. I don't think we'll get invited anywhere. So, it'll probably be fine. We're feeling better and looking better already!....well maybe that's just our minds tricking us because we're sore but any which way, so far so good.
Zone Training Meeting
We've got my first Zone Training meeting coming up this week! We are giving a training on Planning in Detail because God is a God of Detail! Should be good. Well, we hope it will be good. I really want to think of something crazy to do. Something really inspiring.....or something really dumb that everyone will remember. Its always better if it lasts in their minds.
I don't know what else to say. Here are some big hitters from Conference I felt......
Motherhood is sacred for mothers and children.
Follow the council you're given.
Following the prophet is always right even if its not popular or easy.
Nurture all who enter your home.
Seek knowledge.
Learn languages.
Work hard.
Family is joy and happiness.
Don't fight change. Embrace it.
Everyone can do it.
Hasten the work...to all the world.
Do NOT fear men. Talk to everyone.
Be bold.
Repent and be made clean.
Sin wounds our own souls.
5-5-5 in ward councils. Do it.
Do not delay.
Avoid contention.
NOW IS THE TIME to get it done.
"She hath done what she could..."
which goes hand and hand with...
Do all you can.
No judgement, just mercy.
Fill your life with holy places.
So that's my council for the week. Do what you know you need to. Repent and try again. Make your life holy through Christ. Moroni 10:32-33
LOVE YOU!!!!!
