Trash, Trash, Trash, (inside joke)
When I got that letter, I seriously laughed so hard. It was so good! I just wanted the shocks to do service but the trainers work too. But seriously, scotchmallows ! I about died. I almost didn't share with my companions. They loved the granola bars by the way, they've eaten just about all of them. The cliff kids bars are delish. Such a great package and more HI-Chews were greatly appreciated from our whole district. The voodoo magic (DoTerra) is also coming in handy. Some of our sisters and elders have been getting sick and so I've been able not only to protect myself but help them out. Its awesome.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY yesterday. Sorry I forgot last week. You live this is strange time warp here and its difficult to know what's coming up. Thought about you Mom! Love you like crazy. So grateful for all you do for me. Can't say it enough.
I'm so sorry to hear about Cami's Grandma. Poor thing. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. How was the Accolade? Did Toph have a good time? Pictures would be awesome. How's Dan doing post surgery? That's going to be rough to try and move states. Thank heavens for wonderful parents who are willing to jump on a plane, drive a truck and then jump back on a plane. Thank you for all you do for all of us. Thoughts and prayers. That's about all I can offer anyone anymore haha. Good thing God is in charge and the power of pray is real.
The language is....rough. I'm not progressing as much as I would like. Its difficult too because, as bad as I know comparing is, my district is good at French. They've all just about had a few years of French in the recent past and they are just picking it up so quick! Its awesome! I'm so jazzed for all of them! Its just hard not to be progressing as fast or to be sitting in a class where the instructor only speaks in French and I've have no clue what's going on. Its...rough. But I can now pick up on some key words when they speak like Dieu (God), Jésus-Christ (self explanatory , Saint-Esprit (Holy Ghost)......that might be about it. Haha but I've got conjugating verbs down! Well, the one's we've learned. And I can pray kind of! And bare my testimony about some things. Its good. Slowly but surely.
Its hard to remember what all I've wanted to say..... Shout out to Nate Henrie, Curtis and Amy Peterson for the letters! It feels so good to get a letter. Its a bit ridiculous. Haha
So some cool things that happened here this week. Devotionals are so awesome. Sometimes you sit in the classroom and you're like bleh, don't want to go then you think "Get out of here Satan!" And you go and they are AWESOME. We had a member of the 70, Eduardo Gavarret, and Sister Janice Kap Perry (wrote A Child's Pray, Love is Spoken Here, put music to As Sisters in Zion) and Brother Shane Littlefield (pre-field service missionary manager, so he sit in with the apostles when calls are being issued). They are the coolest people! Anytime a brother comes and talks his wife speaks too. Its lovely. Sister Janice Kap Perry wrote new lyrics to As Sister in Zion and its was all about sister missionaries. SO COOL! She spoke during Relief Society which is held with all the sisters and we were all bawling. We sang it and she said we were the first group to actually sing it besides the group who recorded it. Awesome. She's writing a cd for sister missionaries. So in the MTC we are taught to teach SIMPLE truths. Keep it simple. Investigators, or aims in French, don't have the same knowledge we do about God or the Atonement or Joseph Smith so we have to speak simply and plainly. Sister Perry talked all about how the children's songbook is full of simple truths. I am a child of God. Pray He is there, speak He is listening. So true! All of it. I'm going to buy a French children's hymn book and learn some songs so I can at least know some simple phrases that speak simple truths. Loved it.
We have 24 new babies coming in this week! A couple of international ones will be coming in tomorrow. The Zone Leaders and I are going to pick them up and show them around tomorrow then the rest come on Wednesday. I'm freaking out just a little. There are 10 sisters! So excited but nervous about being a steward over them. I can hardly wait to meet them. All of our older missionaries leave today. Its rough saying goodbye to them all! We love them all so much but they left us with some food so that eased the blow a bit....just kidding! Mostly, they left us with some great traditions though. Like a happy box. We put good things we see throughout the day that one another is doing and then at the end of the week share them with each other. Lovely.
So, I couldn't spell before but trying to spell in French is messing up my English spelling even more. Its a problem. So forgive the aweful spelling and maybe Mom could you check it before you post it?
Love you lots. Feeling the prayers. Thank you to everyone for the good you do in the world.
Love,
