F-A-I-T-H!‏

Hey family!

One time, one of our MTC branch presidency's wives taught us a chant. F-A-I-T-H. Sometimes we just have to say it.

So cool thing! This awesome less active/part member couple took us out to breakfast on Friday! It was AWESOME! And so yummy and it reminded me of my family. Awe.....

Sister Berry and I jam out to Katie singing Arise all the time. And sometimes Three Kings Found the Lord too by Jeff. C'est bon.

We got transfer calls and we're staying in Kirkland for another 6 weeks together. Yay!

So the ward does this thing and it kind of bothers me. They will say things to us like "Oh, I don't know. Go ask the missionaries." Meaning the Elders. Inferring we're not missionaries. That might be taking it a little far but its been bugging me a bit. And we don't get as many DAs as the Elders. They are the Zone Leaders but people really liked us in Fallowfield so I have a little bit of a problem with people not really liking the Sisters here. SO we have a plan! We are going to make the ward love us! We have set goals to go visit all the active members this transfer and get in contact with all the less active members in our area. And of course baked goods will be included in those visits. We will win their hearts over, earn their trust and receive the names of those of their friends and family who are ready to hear the message of the restored gospel!

I learned something cool from the Spirit this week. I think it can apply in more ways then just missionary work.

In Preach My Gospel, pg. 101 (English), Elder Dallin H. Oaks is quoted saying something to the effect of we sometimes have a strong desire to be led by the Spirit so much so that we cross the line and try to be led in all things. God has given us the ability to reason for ourselves and we need to use that ability. We sometimes pray and pray for revelation on something but its not needed for us to receive revelation on that thing because either choice is fine or the choice really doesn't matter. Then he councils,

“We should study things out in our minds, using the reasoning powers our Creator has placed within us. Then we should pray for guidance and act upon it if we receive it. If we do not receive guidance, we should act upon our best judgment. Persons who persist in seeking revelatory guidance on subjects on which the Lord has not chosen to direct us may concoct an answer out of their own fantasy or bias, or they may even receive an answer through the medium of false revelation”

I thought about this and about how sometimes as missionaries we so desperately want to find the people God has prepared and we stew and plead over where we need to go to find them. Then the Spirit reminded me of the council God gave us in D&C 4:4. "The field is white, already to harvest." The field. Not just the south side of the field. Not just row 32. Not just house number 4 on Rue Gilford but the whole field. Most of the time, I don't think God really cares where we go. He just wants us to go. He can't make us move but He can, through His Holy Spirit, redirect us once we are moving if needs be. Some people only have moments of "electness" (or readiness to hear the gospel) in this life but most people are ready and will be ready whenever we find them.

So hop to! Do something and listen for the Spirit's gentle nudges in a different direction. If you don't get any, keep moving forward.

Je vous aime ma famille! Its gonna be a good year. Bon annee!

Love,

Our reaction to the most freezing day.

Made sweet rolls new years eve

It was -25 in the afternoon last week. That's without windchill. Needless to say, it's been cold. :) #realcanadianmissionaries
The church parking lot is an ice sheet today.

Exchanges with our Sister Training leaders! Sister Sherwood and Sister Grossenboch!

We went to Harvey's (burger joint) for the first time. Poutine and burgers, what could be better? Happy New Years Day!
