"I just want to kiss all of you!"‏

Hey family!

Stories of the week:

Do you know Dracula?

So this week we hosted a blood drive at the Church. Its called "la collecte" here. I really hope I spelled that right. (I'm having a laps in my confidence in my ability to write and speak French these last couple of days.) The Mascouche missionaries were all asked to volunteer at la collecte, but not us so we just planned to go and donate in the afternoon. When we showed up, one of the ward missionaries from Mascouche told us they needed our help more then they needed our blood so they put us to work! We were assigned to work with the Elders and help people after they donated blood. After they donated, we would walk them over to some lounge chairs and had them sit there for 5 minutes. Then we put tape on their arm and send them off to the refreshments where the Mascouche Sisters were waiting for them.

Needless to say, this was a great opportunity to contact everyone. Here they are, trapped for at least 5 minutes and here we are, missionaries, suppose to make sure they aren't getting sick. We had lots of wonderful small talk practice in French. Just about everyone asked if we worked for Heme Quebec and we got to explain that we were missionaries. The Elders were able to give someone a Book of Mormon. Someone else is going to start coming to the Mascouche Sisters English classes. And we all had a heap of good contact with the community.

I convinced Sister Munive and Sister Leano to donate blood for the first time. It was very funny. At first Sister Munive couldn't even walk into the room without getting dizzy. She doesn't like needles. Then she eventually was able to walk in and I talked her into helping me fill out the paper work. Using all of my Ogden High School HOSA blood drive knowledge, I told her all of the wonderful blessings that come when we donate blood; save three small children's lives or one adult, loose 1000 calories, etc. She eventually gave in and did it.

Then I went to teach English class with Sister Cummings because Sister Munive was waiting to give blood. English class is weird and fun all at the same time. We both had no clue what we were doing so we just started naming things in the primary room and then explaining some grammar principles.

Who's Car is That?

Background story - Some how at the beginning of this transfer we convinced Elder Dawagne, who comes from Belgium, to send us inspirational texts every day. And this has been going on every day of the transfer. They are so funny and sometimes super sincere and lovely. Its the greatest.

Real story - So Elder Dawagne, our district leader, was going through a hard time. The Joliette Elders called us and we plotted together how we could help him feel the love of God that week. The idea came that we should write a million post-its of inspiration and stick it all over their car. So we and the Mascouche Sisters wrote a bunch of funny inspirational post-its and baked some brownies. It all worked out perfectly. The Mascouche Elders and Sisters were having a meeting the Church Tuesday night. We had a Relief Society Activity at the Church. The Joliette Elders were coming in to do an exchange with the Mascouche Elders and they were meeting them at the Church. So perfect. It had to have been the hand of God. So while the Mascouche Sisters were distracting the Elders with their meeting, we met up with the Joliette Elders in the parking lot of the Church and decked their car. We had to be careful because the Mascouche Elders and Mascouche Sister both have a sliver Chevy Cruze. So we double checked where the Sisters car was so we wouldn't mess up. Then we went to work. We put personalized post-its to Elder Dawagne and Elder Pyron on their respective windows of the car. We placed the giant plate of brownies on their car. We even had the Joliette Elders take a few pictures of us decorating it. Perfect. It was set. Then we all casually went inside and waited for their meeting to be done.

When they finished their meeting, we all walked outside and Sister Leano and I were so excited to see their faces. Like we were freaking out a little so we walked behind everyone. When we got out, we hear the Mascouche Elders say, "What the heck?! Someone got attacked! That's so cool! Who's car is that?" They walked over and started reading all the post-its and were like, "Hey! This is to us! Wait a second....why is it on this Toyota?"

Yep. We accidentally decked out the wrong car. It was silver but it was not a Chevy. We're idiots. Haha So we quickly yelled for everyone to move the post-its to the correct car. We all ran around and got the post-its to the right car. I have never seen Elder Pyron smile so much and we almost made Elder Dawagne cry. He shouted, "Oh! I just want to kiss all of you!" Meaning bi sous. Because he's a Francophone. It was really funny.

Harry

Last story super quick.

We have a new investigator! Actually two this week. Its a miracle week! I love Haitian people. So we get a text from some Sisters from downtown saying they met a guy on a bus who said he had met missionaries before. He lives in Terrebonne so they texted us his number. We called him and then things didn't work out. So last night our plans fell through so we called Harry again and he said we could come over right then! So we called up one of our ward missionaries and she said she could come with us. So we go and he was super ready. We told him he was going to want to baptized and that we'll be give him assignments that we expect him to read. He totally was up for it! We have an appointment next week. Miracles happen!

#ShareGoodness

Watch this. Then do it.

I love you all! Be good this week!

Also, follow up, how did testifying about Christ go this week?

Love,

Sister Tribe
Blood drive!
That was us dying after donating blood.

And us being proud we donated.
We're kind of weirdos.
We wrote an email in French to a member of our ward who was in the hospital this week. We felt super triumphant.

The second picture is a pretty accurate interpretation of our companionship.
Awesome district unity! Car decked!
